Market Release Rates Reveal Shortages of Imported Veterinary Medicines

Imports of veterinary medicinal products have been slowly recovering following the changes in market access conditions. The process has been slowed down by long GMP audits procedure, the difficult resumption of production after being GMP certified and the delivery of necessary reagents.

Russia to Recognize GMP Certificates Issued in EAEU

The EEC Council’s Decision No.101 of September 27, 2023 provides for mutual recognition of EAEU GMP certificates, granting the competent national authorities the right to certify a local manufacturer not later than March 13, 2024. As of now, five companies from Belarus can exercise this right.

AVPHARM has published a register of EAEU GMP certified production sites

A section with open data for industry participants was published on the AVPHARM website. The first data set summarizes information about positive conclusions issued based on the results of inspections of domestic and foreign production sites for compliance with the EAEU GMP.

Industry unions have strongly opposed Ministry of Agriculture’s initiative to condition preferential loans with the purchase of locally produced VMPs

Industry unions have strongly opposed the idea of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia to allocate preferential loans for the purchase of veterinary medicinal products only if at least 50% of Russian-made VMPs are purchased. Associations of poultry farmers, and meat and milk producers saw the risks of reducing the efficiency and considered it expedient not to limit the availability of drugs of foreign production.

Experts discussed the Rules on regulation of veterinary medicinal product circulation in the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union

The roundtable discussion on the Rules on regulation of veterinary medicinal product circulation in the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union was held at the site of “Delovaya Rossiya” organization (All-Russia Public Organization “Business Russia”) on May 27. Although the new rules will be introduced in 2024, the participants of the veterinary market have accumulated a significant number of questions and comments to the document.
