Egyptian business to study Russian market of veterinary medicines

Egyptian export company EgAz Pharma signed a cooperation agreement with the Association of Veterinary Pharmaceutical Manufacturers at the “Cereals – Mixed Feed – Veterinary” exhibition in Moscow (Russia) on April 22, 2023. The two organizations agreed to exchange information on the state of the market, market access procedure for foreign drugs, as well as on current changes in relevant legislation. The scope of the agreement extends to Russia, Egypt, and the common market of veterinary drugs of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The signing ceremony was welcomed by Juri Mendelevich Katznelson, executive director of the exhibition, who expressed his hope for the active participation of companies from Egypt in future events. The signing ceremony was attended by Yasser Mohamed Ahmed Moustafa, Head of Commercial Bureau of the Embassy of Egypt in Russia. In his speech he noted that “We are very pleased with the start of partnership between EgAz Pharma and AVPHARM. It is especially important because it starts a new area in the Russian-Egyptian economic and pharmaceutical cooperation. In Egypt, there are a large number of strong companies manufacturing vaccines and pharmaceuticals, including veterinary drugs. We are sure that today’s event will not only open a new sphere of cooperation between companies of our countries in animal health industry, but also will attract the attention of a wide range of Russian entrepreneurs to mutually beneficial partnership with Egyptian companies in other areas”.
Simeon Zhavoronkov, Executive Director of the Association of Veterinary Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, emphasized that AVPHARM advocates for better access for consumers in Russia and the EAEU to safe and quality veterinary medicines, including those produced abroad. According to Mr. Zhavoronkov “Veterinary specialists should have access to necessary means of prevention and treatment of animal diseases. Healthy pets and farm animals are extremely important for the health and food security of mankind, so the search for effective drugs must be carried out together by people from different countries without any dividing lines. We welcome the development of international cooperation in the animal health industry and welcome our Egyptian partners who are willing to share their expertise and intend to develop the presence in the Eurasian market”.
EgAz Pharmaceutical Industries JSC was presented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Amr Ibrahim Abdelkader Amr. He welcomed the agreement and wished a successful start to the cooperation of the two organizations. He added that it will deepen relations between the two countries.
